Following the End of Episode 7...
Once the main credits have finished rolling after the completion of Episode 7 – and the planet has been saved – you will be taken back to the main menu. If you managed to earn over 2000 Clear Points whilst playing through the first seven Episodes of the game, you will be notice a new option to select at the bottom of the main menu which displays as “???”.
You begin Episode 8 by being given the choice between playing as Acarno, Chris or Navarro. It makes no difference as you play as each character at some point. After making your choice, you’ll appear inside East Edge City’s Chruch.
IS THERE A HOOKSHOOT TO DO INSIDE????
Head up the stairs on either wall of the room and at the top you’ll find our friend Hosaka. Interact with him for details on what’s to come. When the dialogue is finished, turn on the GRAVITY CONTROLLER and tump over the barrier into the hole pointed out by Hosaka.
Entrance to Air Cooling Machine #87
You’ll emerge in a pool of water. If you climb out you’ll notice that Chris and Navarro are waiting for you. They each have a separate mission to complete – at this point it’s worth noting you may want to check your items for new outfits.
When you’re ready to continue, swim down in the pool of water. You’ll next find yourself underwater next to a set of moving purple lights to your left and right. Head for the surface of the water to avoid the oncoming underwater mechanisms, then swim forwards until you’re able to climb out on the purple and while platform ahead. As you climb out, there is a slope in front of you.
A word of warning, this next part can be a little tedious… You must repeatedly jump up up the slope in front of you until you reach the top. The grey spikes sticking out of the ground will explode if you touch them, but you should be able to withstand the damage no problem.
You will slip back slightly every time you land further up, but persevere and you will reach the top. When you get there, you will notice the giant grey shards falling from the ceiling – it goes without saying that you need to avoid these. Slide down an identical ramp to the one you just scaled whilst hugging the left wall and drop into another pool of water. Continue hugging the wall and swim forwards until you reach the other side. Beware of more oncoming mechanisms under the water that will kill you – keep to the surface.
Before you scale the slope in front of you, use a health item if necessary as there are more exploding spikes on the way up. Repeat the process of jumping up and over the slope and into another pool of water, again being aware of the exploding spikes on the downward slope and more grey shards dropping from the ceiling. Hug the left wall again again remain on the surface of the water to avoid the oncoming mechanisms beneath. Climb out when you reach the other side, use another health item if needed and head through the grey door in front of you.
The Blue Crystal
In the next room, pickup the ENERGY PACK on Acarno’s right as you enter. This room contains a giant fan in the centre of the floor, with a large rotating machine above suspended from the ceiling – in-between these you will notice a blue crystal floating in mid-air. The aim of this room is to shoot the crystal with the LASER GUN – which can be picked up on the floor a few steps away from the ENERGY PACK you just picked up – in order to make the various platforms in the air move around, allowing you to make your way to the top of the room.
Once you’ve picked it up, equip the LASER GUN and position Acarno so he is able to shoot the blue crystal in the middle of the room.
Facing the crystal, turn so that Acarno is hugging the wall to his right and make your way to the opposite side of the room. Jump on the low floating platform, and make the following series of jumps;
